About Us
Along their long and remarkable scientific career, Brothers Vasilis and Leon Ntziachristos have been discussing climate change for a long time. Like many scientists, they sought to leverage their expertise in addressing this significant global challenge.
Leon met Finnish Matti Nevalainen through a mutual acquaintance at a company called Pegasor. Pegasor was ultimately sold, but the brother´s friendship with Matti and commitment to fighting climate change endured. The trio identified black carbon as their first target due to the difficulties of measuring it with existing techniques.
In late 2024, Vasilis, Leon, and Matti established Maurus Oy. Inspired by the flags of their motherlands, they are now working on a blue-and-white solution to tackle the pitch-black problem of black carbon.
